Neo-Soul songstress Mo.Louie has just dropped the video for her latest single, I’ll Call You and we’re ecstatic that you get to see it first, right here!
We were already big fans of the single, released earlier this month; gloomy with heartbreak but uplifting too as it captures the moment one decides to reclaim their power, even when it feels as though it’s painfully locked in the grips of another.
The video, by Matt Zull (and a very talented creative team including Hugh Jones, Ben Ferguson and, of course, Mo.Louie) thematically plays on ‘time’ and how it can be manipulated from fast to slow, to warped to disjointed. With such an array of cool visuals, it’s hard not to give a shout out to the artist’s undeniable style factor; Mo.Louie’s style has always been a huge part of her art, both in live performance and in her online presence. What’s glorious about this vid is that it takes the blue of melancholy and douses it in glitter, glow in the dark paint and 90’s Gwen Stefani face jewels (they’re back with a vengeance!).
The I’ll Call You video is released ahead of Mo.Louie’s upcoming EP, which promises to be one delicious collection of electro-laced soul gems, so stay tuned! You can also catch Mo.Louie live next month at Melbourne Music Week.
If you haven’t heard the single yet, what are you waiting for? Hit that play button and get lost in the sweet, mellow tones of Mo.Louie…
