Evie Gardiner

Evie has experienced weight stigma and body image concerns for as long as she can remember, shaping her relationship with food and health. Now, as a public health advocate and PhD candidate at the University of Queensland, she explores weight inclusivity in public health and champions equitable care for individuals with eating disorders, regardless of size. With a Master of Public Health from the University of Sydney, Evie has worked in public and mental health research, including roles at the University of New South Wales and the National Centre for Immunisation Research and Surveillance (NCIRS). She is passionate about dismantling weight stigma, which research shows harms both mental and physical health. Evie promotes balanced well-being, prioritising movement that feels good and nourishing meals that satisfy. She challenges harmful societal messages about body size and works toward a more inclusive healthcare system where everyone receives the care they deserve.
