Writing and photographs by Chiara Chappetta // I find it easier to express myself through pictures rather than words, so I hope these photos show how special our time at dawn is.
My name is Chiara, I’m 20 years old, and I live in Bologna. I study Communication at the university here. I’m a full-time art lover.
I took these photos with my lovely friend Lorenza who I met at the University. On an ordinary day in July we decided to go outside to wait for the dawn and sunrise. All the photos were taken in Bologna city center and are all analog. Since then, we’ve made it a habit to wait for the dawn outdoors often; talking, listening to music, enjoying the sounds as the city wakes up at 5:00 am–the first bus that crosses the road, people going to work on their bikes, the shops’ shutters rising–and the fresh air that comes with the sun’s first rays in the sky.
