Name, age, location: Céline Floyd, 18, Toronto, Canada
What’s your favorite personal quality? My favourite personal quality is being able to make almost anyone laugh, or at least smile, even at the hardest of times (usually thanks to puns).
If you could travel anywhere, where would it be? I’d really like to go back to Germany, which is where I was born (but don’t remember ever actually being). It just seems like such a beautiful and culturally enriching place! Plus, I’ve just started learning German and I’m so in love with it already!
What’s your favourite book? Definitely The Importance of Being Earnest. It’s so funny and honest in so many ways and somehow manages to feel timeless!
Name, age, location: Clair Wainwright, 21, Northern Beaches, Sydney
What do you love about being a girl? All of it. Living as an example and role model, sparkles and dressing up, not feeling the peer pressure as much as boys can, the ability to break barriers, and oh yeah, giving life is pretty amazing.
If you could have a superpower, what would it be? Time Travel, so I could go back and visit my mother and relive a few moments before she passed away.
What’s your favourite place that you’ve been? This is a tough one, I have travelled far and wide and find a connection amongst most places. Coming home is always a content sensation though, so I’ll stick with Avalon.
Name, age, location: Bella, 26, Melbourne, Australia
What are you grateful for? My rugs; a talented, passionate, funny, and caring group of women who have been pivotal in my life. They have taught me so much, been an invaluable support network, and helped me find a strength I never knew I had. I definitely think of my time with them as my formative years.
If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would you go? The Frida Kahlo Museum in Mexico City.
If you could wake up with a new talent, what would it be? Gymnastics.
Name, age, location: Katie Mae, 20 years old, Denver, Colorado
List three of your favorite things. Zines, coffee, and my friends-human or otherwise
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given? I think the best advice I’ve been given is to show up as a whole and complete person always, bringing all of my emotions and thoughts into the situation. I think being the most true to myself I can be is a form of reclaiming my emotion.
What is something not many people know about you? Something not many people know about me is that I am a closeted hopeless romantic.
Name, age, location: Lillian, 16, Melbourne, Australia
What’s one item on your bucket list? Oh, boy. I have so many, I don’t know where to begin! At the moment I love the idea of going on a road trip with my friends… I also really want to study overseas at some point!
How would you describe yourself in five words? Kind, a good listener, sleepy.
If you could have a conversation with anyone in the world, who would it be? Over the last year and a bit, I’ve met many lovely people online with similar interests to me. Sadly, most of them live in Europe! I’d love to go out to a cafe or botanical gardens with them, and have long conversations about photography, the stories we write, and how we try to live our lives.
Name, age, location: Maddison, 19, Bathurst, Australia
What’s the last book you read? Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky. It is without a doubt my favourite book of all time and I cannot stop re-reading it!
If you could wake up with any talent, what would it be? Definitely the ability to sing. It wouldn’t change the amount of singing I do, it would just allow people to enjoy it a lot more.
What’s a great piece of advice you’ve received? The best piece of advice I’ve received is from my mum, which is to not let other people determine your actions and decisions. This is the best piece of advice for anyone and I always love to remind myself and others of it when making big decisions!
Name, age, location: Quincy, 22, Melbourne, VIC (via the States)
What’s your favorite quote? Not a huge quote person, but I appreciate Ru-Paul’s “You’re born naked and the rest is drag.”
What is the best piece of advice you’ve received? From my dad, a little less eloquently worded than whatever he said: Don’t worry that you don’t have it all figured out yet, because no one really does but you learn as you go, and if you’re following your passion then you will make it work for you.
What are five things that fascinate you? Subculture, mental health, food and cooking, people’s choice in shoes, web series.
Name, age, location: Sophie, 22, Glasgow, Scotland
Do you collect anything? My friends gave me a record player for my birthday so I am attempting a record collection. I also have a lot of plants!
What’s your favourite song right now? 22 (OVER S∞∞N) – Bon Iver
What do you wish you could change about the world? Right now, I would eliminate the stigma of mental health. The wellbeing of your mind is as real as a broken leg, and everyone should feel as though they can talk about it and seek help.
