LETTER FROM THE EDITORS: It’s Almost Been a Year!

With love from Freya & Sophie

Hey Tigress Girls,

Can you believe it’s nearly May? We can’t! Both of your Tigress editors will be celebrating birthdays this May, and there is another birthday coming up soon too… Can you guess what is turning ONE year old? That’s right! Tigress will be celebrating our first year as a unique, collaborative online magazine for teenage girls (and boys, and women, and men, and anyone in between)! We are so excited to celebrate with you and we have lots of plans for the week, so stay tuned. For the last year, Tigress has been kept afloat by Sophie and I and our modest funds, as well as the incredible and amazing contributors who give their time and beautiful work for free! We could not have kept this magazine afloat without the generosity of our contributors and for that, we will be forever grateful.

But the time has some for us to step up to a new level of being. We want to allow Tigress to grow; we want to be able to reach far and wide so that girls from all over the planet can be a part of our community. And we hope to one day be able to pay our contributors for their hard work. But for all this, we need funds.

SO, the plan is to search high and low for SPONSORS, people who support our initiative, have aligning values, and are interested in contributing to Tigress monetarily. Having sponsors will allow us to do so much more with our little magazine, and to simultaneously support other like-minded creatives! Now, if you are thinking, “I have no money, but I want to help!”, we also have our Tigress “FRIENDS” initiative (although really, you are all our friends).

Our Friends of Tigress are people who offer a giveaway or help us promote our magazine. If you are an artist, a musician, a crafter, or a blogger, you can choose to give some of your beautiful wares to Tigress readers, or to simply promote us on your site! But we’re also open-minded to any other ideas, because we certainly haven’t covered it all—we love making connections and friends, so don’t hesitate to contact us about any ideas you may have! You can see our Friends & Sponsors thus far on our “STUFF WE LOVE” page.

We are also going to be introducing advertisement to our site… but never fear! Our site will not be overrun with ads; in facts we will be sticking to a very small amount of advertising AND we will be very picky with who we choose to be advertising. If a product doesn’t align with our values and mission, we will not run their ad. Simple as that. Our hope is that advertisements on Tigress will simply increase the traffic to other fabulous websites, organizations, and people.

If you are interested in being a Sponsor, Friend, or Advertiser, please get in touch with us through tigressmagforgirls@gmail.com. We would love to talk about the best way to tailor your involvement with Tigress.

Keep your eyes out over the next few weeks as we have a lot of exciting things in store!

Lots of love,

Freya & Sophie
