Hey Kelly! Introduce yourself!

Hi! My name is Kelly, I’m 17, and I’m currently studying in my first year of university, where I’m majoring in design.

Where are you from?

I’m from Markham, a small city that’s just north of Toronto.

What are your dreams?

I think I’ve always dreamed of doing something creative with my life. My dream job right now would be to become an art/creative director at a company. I also really want to meet all the cast members from my favourite TV shows!!

What are your passions?

I’ve always had a passion for calligraphy. I think it’s amazing how it can just transform a word into art. I am also really passionate about TV shows and Harry Potter. I could probably go on for days about how much I love Harry Potter.

What are your favourite personal qualities?

I think if I had to choose one quality about myself, it would be my ability to see the big picture. I’m not a very opinionated person because I like to keep an open mind and see both sides of an argument. I like being a mediator.

Why did you go into design?

I decided to go into design because design is all about solutions. In a world filled with problems, I think that we need more thinkers. I’ve also always been interested in the creative arts, but never painting or drawing, so I thought that design would be a happy medium.

What is your favourite place in the world?

I visited London, England a year ago and I loved it. If I could visit the city again that would be amazing. I definitely want to live there one day.

Have you traveled a lot? Where?

I’ve been to the UK, China, Japan, Singapore, Italy, Vatican City (technically, it’s a country), USA, The Bahamas, Spain, The Netherlands, Denmark, Croatia, Monaco, Montenegro, France (but not really), and Greece! I can’t wait to add more to that list in the future!

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?

I think I would want to actually go to France because I was on a cruise when I went and I didn’t feel well enough to leave the boat and explore the port. I was in French waters though! I’d also really like to go to Australia and Germany!

What do you do to relax?

I usually listen to music, watch a TV show, or take a nap.

What are five things that fascinate you?

Fan theories, Nature, Spoken word, Film theory (I love watching film analysis videos online), People that are really good at voice impressions

What do you love about being a girl?

I love how girls always have each others backs. I feel like for me, I’ve always had a group of girls that I knew I could just trust and depend on. We’re all on the same team and we should just work together to make the world a better place!

What don’t you like about being a girl?

I don’t like the stereotypes that surround being a girl. I don’t like how we’re assumed to be weaker, dumber, submissive, etc. I also dislike how we’re automatically villainized by society if we go against this stereotype. It just feels like I’m automatically labelled.

What are some of your favourite things to do right now?

I really like doing calligraphy and watching TV.

What are your favourite TV shows and movies?

Once Upon A Time, Grey’s Anatomy, The Flash, Arrow, How To Get Away With Murder, and Quantico.

What is something you wish you could tell your younger self?

I think I would tell my younger self to stop worrying. You can’t change something that has already happened and you can’t let regret control you. The past is the past; focus on the future. Also, if you don’t know the answer, just choose “C”.
