A Nashville-based queer singer-songwriter and music educator playing piano, flute, and ukulele with a penchant for introspective storytelling and songs of social conscience, feminism, and literacy.
Fronting her band, Julia Jade & the Sunflowers, Julia creates quirky, piano-based pop songs that have been compared to Regina Spektor, Kate Nash, Angel Olsen, Dodie Clark, and early Ingrid Michaelson. Favoring timeless stories of love, friendship, and social change over parties and “just one night” mentality, Julia’s mission is to reach an audience that just doesn’t fit in – that don’t conform to society’s standards.

    Julia, I was very impressed by this quirky and fun song you’ve composed. And I hope others that we know from Millikan Middle School Performing Arts Magnet and LACHSA have an opportunity to hear this song as well as others.
